A new contemporary art exhibit, Papillon, will open at the Galleria Poggiali e Forconi of Florence on Saturday, December 15. The show will feature approximately 40 works by the young American artist, Zhivago Duncan, whose pieces are inspired by the book, Papillon, an autobiography of  Henri Charrière, a prisoner and escaped convict of a penal colony in French Guiana. On display are 10 installations—two of monumental dimensions—several dioramas, a series of oil on canvas paintings, as well as 30 suspended and painted model airplanes.

Entrance to the exhibit is free, with opening hours from 10 am to 1 pm and 3 pm to 7 pm from Tuesday to Saturday (closed Sunday and Monday). The Galleria Poggiali e Forconi is located on Via della Scala, 35a.
