The Islamic Art and Florence from the Medici to the 20th Centrury

The exhibition reveals the role Florence played in the cultural exchange with the Middle East as well as the interest in the Islamic art, dating back at least to the 14th century as proven by the Florentine merchants’ reports. A section takes place at the Museum of Bargello, where it takes the most of the exceptional collection of Islamic art bequeathed by the French merchants and collectors J.B. and L. Carrand.
