The Maggio Musicale Fiorentino will stage Verdi’s “Rigoletto”, “Trovatore” and “Traviata” one after the other under the baton the Fabio Luisi and the direction of Francesco Micheli. They are his most famous operas-suffice it to say that Traviata is by far the most staged opera worldwide, more than two performances a day. Composed in only two years and half with an incomparable dramatic effectiveness, taken together they form the so-called “trilogy”, immensely loved by the Italian people who back then were about to become a nation. In order to underline these elements, a huge Italian flag will open the performances each colour marking the scenery of a different opera according its dominant emotion: green for Rigoletto, red for Trovatore, white for Traviata.
