Elia Nichols

Elia Nichols is an actress and a voice and acting coach, who has worked in theatre and film in Los Angeles, New York, New Orleans, Austin, and the Williamstown Theatre Festival among other places in the United States, as well as here in Florence, Italy.

She has also starred in and facilitated multiple new plays/new works (including work shopping Necessary Targets with Eve Ensler at the Vassar Powerhouse Theatre Festival).

Elia received her Bachelor of Arts in theatre from Tulane University and her Masters of Fine Arts in acting from the University of Texas at Austin.

Elia is one of the two co-founders of F.E.S.T.A. Theatre Company here in Florence and produces and acts in many of F.E.S.T.A.’s productions. In 2010, she played the role of Lucy in F.E.S.T.A.’s Dracula at the Bargello and was the English language narrator in The Velveteen Rabbit at the Pergola Theatre. In 2009, she starred as Lady Macbeth in F.E.S.T.A.’s Macbeth at the Bargello and in 2008 as Alice in Alice in Wonderland.

In Italy, she has starred in a documentary film on Siena’s Palio, in the upcoming TV show “Yoko, Mo & Me” and is the lead actress for the web television series, “Follow Me,” for the www.tuscanytube.com travel website. She is about to act in italian for the first time in 8 Donne e un Mistero, which opens at Teatro di Rifredi in November 2010.
